Review Methodology
Every tool we review is evaluated against real real estate workflows. We don't just read feature pages — we test tools the way a working agent would use them.
What We Test
Each tool is evaluated on criteria relevant to its category:
- Real estate relevance. Does the tool solve a real problem that agents actually have? A generic AI writer is different from one trained on real estate copy.
- Ease of use. Can a non-technical agent set it up and start using it within 30 minutes? Tools that require developer setup or API knowledge get marked down.
- Output quality. We run real tasks — listing descriptions from actual property details, lead follow-up sequences, virtual staging on real photos — and evaluate the results.
- Pricing and value. What does it cost per month, and is the time savings worth the price? We calculate ROI based on typical agent hourly rates.
- Integration. Does it work with tools agents already use — MLS systems, CRMs, email platforms, transaction management software?
Our Rating Scale
Tools are rated on a 5-star scale. Here's what the ratings mean:
- 5 stars: Best in class. Solves the problem well, easy to use, fairly priced. We'd recommend it to any agent.
- 4 stars: Strong option with minor drawbacks. Good for most agents, may not be the best fit for every situation.
- 3 stars: Decent but has notable limitations. Works for some use cases but better alternatives usually exist.
- 2 stars: Below average. Significant usability or quality issues. Only consider if it fills a very specific niche.
- 1 star: Not recommended. Doesn't deliver on its promises or has serious problems.
Independence
Our ratings are never influenced by affiliate relationships, advertising, or vendor requests. If a tool with a generous affiliate program deserves 2 stars, it gets 2 stars. If the best tool has no affiliate program at all, we still recommend it first. See our affiliate disclosure for full details.
